Domestic Retrofit

Living in a 3-bedroom detached house in Scotland, Mr Dudley was looking to turn his rural home into a more renewable one, as he was interested in increasing his homes heating efficiency whilst reducing the costs of his utility bills.

After enquiring for a full site survey, our in-house team calculated that Mr Dudley’s home was a perfect match for an 8.5 kW Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump for his retrofit property. With one of the best heat pump products on the market, Mr Dudley was able to achieve extremely low running costs when compared to conventional heating systems.

The Air source heat pump was fitted to the exterior of the property, outside of Mr Dudley’s workshop on anti-vibration mounts. The flow and return pipes ran from the eaves to the cylinder. In addition to this, our engineers also installed a 200-litre hot water cylinder with a single HP coil which was located in the cupboard in the workshop and connected to the heat pump.

Mr Dudley has now been generating clean energy for his home for nearly two year and will continuously do so for many more to come, whilst earning his money back through a government scheme.

Our team calculated that Mr Dudley would earn more than £9,100 back from the renewable heat incentive and he would receive a 13.70% return on his investment in just the first 12-months.

The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive is a Government financial support scheme for renewable heating systems, such heat pumps.

As owners of renewable heating, you will be paid quarterly over a 7-year period for the amount of clean, green renewable heat it’s estimated you system would produce.

The scheme ends on the 31st March 2021, so if you’re looking to transition to renewable energy for your home or business, then give our expert team a call on 0808 222 0 111 to find your homes perfect renewable match.
