We suggested to the couple that generating their own heating with renewable energy, instead of burning fossil fuels, will not only reduce his carbon footprint but it will also make them eligible for a government incentive.
Once all their renewable questions were answered, the homeowners decided to go forward with the installation of a heat pump, within the property to create heating and hot water from renewable energy. The couple’s renewable expert calculated that a Mitsubishi Ecodan 8.5kW Outdoor Unit with a 250-Litre Hot Water Cylinder with a single coil and low loss header would be most suited for the property.
In addition to installing the heat pump system, our team of engineers also installed a Wi-Fi Interface MEL Cloud, this device would allow the homeowners to view and control their heat pump system from anywhere in the world with their phone.
Our in-house team calculated that after the heat pump had been installed they could claim the RHI grant and that over the 7-year period the couple would earn around £7,900, which would give them a full return on their initial investment.
In addition to this, our team predicted that because the homeowners switched from using Oil to Renewable energy, it means to they would see an annual average saving of £392, meaning that once the renewable heat incentive ended, they would have saved £2750 over the 7 years by switching to a heat pump.
